Hi Erin, I actually came to your blog at the post where you had cut your thumb. I was trying to figure out what it was you threw away. Two days ago, I cut a tiny piece off of a finger, along with a little fingernail. The dr. at the urgent care clinic I went to put that Gelfoam on it and said to keep the bandage he covered it with for 48 hours. I didn't remember if he said what to do later, so I called today, and was told to soak it a couple times a day and peel off the extra Gelfoam that comes up. I can't imagine having to take it off and put more on. You sure were brave! Now, I'm trying to figure out how much I should let it dry before wrapping it. I need the protection from getting it bumped.
If you have any tips on dealing with the foam, please let me know.
I'm sorry for your loss of Hannah. I just said a prayer for God's comfort for you and your family in your grieving.
