I mean, basically. ;)
But I did have a fun idea this year. First, to clean up my blog a little bit. While I will probably still post about grief from time to time, that certainly isn't the main focus right now, so it's no longer "Mourning into Dancing."
And in addition to Top 5 lists and random ramblings, I have something else I'll be blogging about this year....
I love to cook and bake. My kitchen is almost my favorite room in my house, second only to my dining room where I share what has happened, for better or worse, in my kitchen. :) It's where I feel most like myself.
But sometimes life gets busy and I realize that I fall back on the same handful of meals week to week. I know I'm not alone in this--sometimes it's purely survival!
So for 2019, I am branching out. I thought it would be fun to try a new recipe every week for a year. And the more I thought about it, the more I thought it would be fun to stick with one source for those recipes.
Smitten Kitchen, the brainchild of Deb Perelman in New York City, is one of my favorite follows on social media. I've used a couple of her recipes for different things and she's just fantastic.
So every week this year, I'll be making one new Smitten Kitchen recipe. I want to branch out once in a while--use a cooking method I've never tried, buy an ingredient I've never bought, etc. Feel free to join me! I'll also be posting on Instagram with #AYearOfSmittenKitchen if you want to follow along. :)
